New Patients at Flynn Chiro
Starting with a new healthcare provider can feel daunting, especially if you’re not sure what’s involved. Here’s exactly what to expect when you book your first visit with Flynn Chiro, so you can walk in feeling prepared and at ease.
Before Your First Visit
When you book online, you’ll be sent a short pre-visit form to complete in advance, covering your presenting problem and relevant history. This helps Dr Flynn Pettersson (Chiropractor) make the most of your time together from the moment you arrive.
On the day, wear something comfortable that’s easy to move and adjust in. Athletic or loose-fitting clothing works well. On your first visit, Flynn will generally need to view the area of concern, so most women find it comfortable to wear something like athletic tights, and men typically remove their shirt for the assessment. If you have any previous X-rays, scans, reports or test results related to your concern, please bring these along too.
Your First Visit
Your initial appointment takes around 45 minutes. Flynn will begin by taking a full history and giving you the chance to explain what’s going on in your own words. From there, he’ll carry out a full-body posture and range-of-motion check, along with a basic neurological assessment, followed by a closer look at the specific area of concern.
Throughout the assessment, Flynn explains his findings in straightforward language and answers any questions you may have. Many patients arrive unsure of what’s causing their discomfort, so part of the first visit is helping them better understand what’s happening and discussing the next steps with confidence.
Your Second Visit
Your second appointment picks up from where the first left off. Flynn will check in on how you felt over the days following your first adjustment, and use that feedback to guide further care on the day.
Towards the end of the visit, you’ll work together on a plan going forward, including expected timeframes, goals, costs, and practical strategies you can use at home. This may include stretches, movement advice, exercise recommendations, or other simple steps designed to help you play an active role in your progress.

Working With Other Providers
Flynn is happy to work as part of a broader healthcare team. If you also see a physiotherapist, osteopath, or other allied health provider, that’s not an issue. Many patients see more than one practitioner, and Flynn is comfortable being part of that picture alongside your other care.
Costs and Payment
Flynn’s fees are comparable to other chiropractic providers in the area. Most private health funds with extras cover chiropractic care, and you can typically claim around 50% back at reception, up to your annual limit. With a referral from your GP, Medicare may also subsidise a number of visits per year under the Chronic Disease Management Plan.
Visa and Mastercard are accepted at both locations. Financial questions, including visit frequency and expected costs, are usually discussed during your second visit once a plan has started to take shape.
